A 66-year-old hiker, member of the Marseille Alpine Club, was killed on Friday April 12, in a fall of 300 to 400 meters on the descent of Grande Casse, in the town of La Plagne (Savoie), reported this Saturday France Bleu Pays de Savoie.

This sixty-year-old, who was ski touring with six other people, slipped during the descent and slid down a serac for several hundred meters.

On site, rescuers from the CRS Alpes, accompanied by a doctor from the SMUR, noted his death. An investigation was opened by the Albertville public prosecutor’s office to determine the precise circumstances of this death. The CRS Alpes is responsible for the investigations. The first elements of the investigation confirm for the moment the theory of an accidental fall.
