(Montreal) A snowstorm should hit several regions of Quebec from Wednesday evening until Thursday.
Environment Canada issued a special weather report on Monday morning announcing that snow accumulations of 15 to 25 centimeters are expected for all regions along the St. Lawrence Valley, from Montreal to Gaspé, and that moderate to strong winds will accompany this snow and should create blowing snow in places.
In the Outaouais, precipitation should be lower, by 10 to 15 centimeters, but in the Bas-Saint-Laurent, throughout Gaspésie and on the North Shore, as far as Blanc-Sablon, falls of 30 centimeters of snow are possible.
Environment Canada warns that in Estrie, a brief period of rain could occur Thursday morning and that there will be a risk of freezing rain during the transition from snow to rain.
The regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Haute-Mauricie and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean were not the subject of any special weather report on Monday morning.
