A bill is being debated from Monday, June 12 in the National Assembly to find out whether doctors should be forced to settle in areas in need. One of the solutions is the opening of nursing homes which find a lot of people.

This appointment is a relief for André, 70 years old. His teeth have been causing him pain for months. He had to, to get treatment, take his troubles patiently. “My dentist has retired. And then there are no dentists“, he specifies.It’s maddening, because I’m told: ‘we asked 40 firms’ (…) we’ve been here for three months“says Dr. Imad Oleiwan, dentist. In a new nursing home in Montbeliard (Doubs)), where dozens of practitionersmost patients are coming for the first time.

Long queue

They ended up getting an appointment after months of struggling. The queue is even longer on the GP floor. The phone rings continuously. Of the five new doctors, Ludivine is one of only two who can still accept patients. “IThere are a lot of delays, a lot of people.
