Logan Mailloux made it big on Saturday in Erie. He completed a natural hat trick with a Michigan-style goal in a duel between the London Knights and the Otters.

The hope of the Montreal Canadiens achieved this feat in the third period. With his side leading 2-1, he struck three consecutive times in a massive attacking situation to put the game beyond the hosts’ reach.

Mailloux surprised goaltender Nolan Lalonde by quickly completing the maneuver popularized by Andrei Svechnikov and Trevor Zegras to get his third goal of the game.

Previously, the 19-year-old defender had made it 3-1 with a laser to the top. He had again used his weapon of choice to make the red light flicker a second time.

The London team savored a 5-1 win and, unsurprisingly, Mailloux was named the game’s first star.

In 38 games this season, the former Habs first-round pick has scored 17 goals and 36 points.
