A gynecologist working in Val-d’Oise is the target of nearly 130 complaints of rape and sexual assault, including 43 for which the investigating judge was seized suppletively in September 2021 by the Pontoise prosecutor’s office, franceinfo learned Thursday, January 20 with Pierre Sennès, the Pontoise prosecutor, partially confirming information from RTL.

“The investigating judge plans to hear the indicted again during the first quarter of 2022 on these 43 complainants, for whom [le gynécologue] had not been questioned during his last interrogation on January 5, 2021″, says the prosecutor.

The case began more than eight years ago, when a judicial investigation was opened on September 5, 2013. The gynecologist was indicted in this case on July 10, 2014. identify 10,800 patients, thanks to a gynecologist’s patient file seized by the courts. In all, “7,465 patients were contacted by the investigators, 118 filed a complaint with the gendarmes, in addition to other complaints which were filed directly with the investigating judge”, lists Pierre Sennes.

The prosecutor tells franceinfo that “the extraordinary number of complainants necessarily led to very long and complex investigations.” For example, “a forensic expertise was notably entrusted to an expert gynecologist-obstetrician in order to assess the prejudice of the complainants and thus preserve their rights.” Thus, three years were necessary for the expert “for the realization of this work during which each complaint was analyzed with regard to the elements of the medical files and the statements of the gynecologist under examination”, adds the prosecutor of Pontoise.

After more than eight years of investigation, “investigations carried out on letters rogatory by the investigators as well as forensic expertise carried out” resulted in 43 new victims filing complaints in the fall of 2021.
