A man was shot and wounded during a conflict in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood on Sunday morning in Montreal.
The victim, injured in the upper body, is a 35-year-old man with a criminal record, said spokeswoman for the Montreal Police Service Véronique Dubuc. He was transported to a hospital and his life is out of danger.
A 911 call was made around 6:15 a.m. for an assault that took place on Acadie Boulevard, near Mazurette Street. “A conflict would possibly have started inside a licensed place and the shots would have taken place outside, not far from the place”, specifies the agent Dubuc.
The investigators met all the possible witnesses, Sunday in the middle of the afternoon. The people who had been held for investigation since the morning were however released.
Mme Dubuc specifies that crime scene technicians as well as the canine squad “actively participated in the search for evidence” in order to allow the investigators to reconstruct the thread of events.
