A glider crashed on Monday afternoon in the Bauges massif in Savoie in the town of Aillon-le-Jeune. The pilot, alone on board, managed to get out of the aircraft. He then alerted the emergency services around 4:15 p.m. This 15-year-old boy is slightly injured.
According to the firefighters of Savoie, the accident occurred in a wooded area, difficult to access. The young man was therefore airlifted by the Dragon 74 helicopter. Complaining of some pain, he was hospitalized in Chambéry for a check-up.
Alone in a glider at 15?
For the uninitiated it may seem surprising to fly a glider alone at 15 years old but according to the website of the French Federation of Glider Flight: “young people can start their training at 13, fly independently at 14 and obtain their license at the age of 16”.
