In Isère, three women had sold their house to move into a brand new residence for seniors. But the three residents find themselves completely alone in an abandoned building.
In Chavanoz, in Isère, the residence for seniors is brand new. But inside, the refectory is deserted, the corridors empty and the building almost abandoned. Of the 92 apartments, there are only three residents. “I’m happy to be here, but it needs to move a little”, says Incarnation Tarabbia, resident of Clos de Bellemont. The rents are not paid: they were around 1,000 euros for a room, more 400 euros for services that do not exist. The guards are still there, without salaries. They do some maintenance at their own expense.
A legal action opposes the owner and the former tenant
“It’s true that it’s complicated for them, but it’s also complicated for us, we’re very worried and we don’t feel safe”, says Christelle Goubet, daughter of one of the residents. The company Seniors M is at the origin of this project, it was a tenant but terminated the lease, because, it says, of many poor workmanship. “There are hundreds of thousands of euros in repairs. We would have known there were these problems, we would not have accepted the delivery”says Thomas Feleman, managing director of Seniors M. A legal action is between the owner and the former tenant and a complaint has been filed, signed by around fifteen people, in particular to denounce sabotage.
