In 2023, Santa Claus was generous again and under the tree, there were a lot of toys. “It’s eight gifts on average”, recalls Franck Mathais, spokesperson for the JouéClub stores, who was delighted to have seen so many people in the brand’s points of sale. An influx that he explains by the fact that families have “given time” this year when the holidays started on December 22.
Resale, a phenomenon that mainly concerns adults
And this year, it was the board games that stood out under the tree. “They are always present, it is for children, for adolescents and for adults,” lists the spokesperson. But it also happens that the gifts received arrive damaged or… without being particularly requested by those who receive them. “The objective is to welcome the customer and put in place solutions so that the child can leave immediately with a toy that works as he wishes”, he explains. Some products will also be resold the day after Christmas, even if this phenomenon mainly concerns adults.
