The Minister of the Interior announced it on Twitter: a gendarme was “seriously injured” this October 19 in Pugnac, following a refusal to comply. The soldier was knocked down by a driver during a banal road check around 6:30 p.m., according to the gendarmes. Dragged for several tens of meters, he suffers from “sharp pain” to the legs and “abrasions” on the upper body. His days were however not in danger during his evacuation to the CHU Pellegrin in Bordeaux.
“The suspect is actively sought and the sparrowhawk plan is triggered”clarified Gerald Darmanin
on Twitter. This research plan includes the deployment of a helicopter and several teams of gendarmes on the ground, including a canine team.
“Full support for the seriously injured gendarme. Refusal to comply kills: we must constantly repeat it”also wrote the Minister of the Interior.
