andreas Gallozzi is died in eastern Ukraine, a region plagued by intense fighting. “They were attacked by the Russians and unfortunately his position was hit by a shell and he received a piece of shrapnel in the neck”testifies Edith Gallozzihis mother. At 22, he was on the front lines alongside the international legion. Today, still reeling from the news, her mother immerses herself in her memories.

“Please try to stay alive”

andreas Gallozzi was passionate about fighting. He spent some time at the 17th parachute regiment of Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne). For a year and the start of her son’s commitment to Ukraine, his mother had regularly received photos of him in military uniform. “That’s before the last mission, he smiles. I know that there he is happy”she says. In the field, Andreas Gallozzi befriended some of his comrades. For her part, her mother appealed to the few French people who fought in this war: “Please try to stay alive, come back to us”.
