A French agent was killed during a bombing in the Gaza Strip. Paris strongly condemned and demanded that “all the light” be shed by the Israeli authorities.
An Israeli bombing in Rafah on Wednesday evening cost the life of a Palestinian working for France since 2022. He died of his wounds on Saturday December 16. He had found refuge in a friend’s house. Rafah, a town in the far south of Gaza, is believed to be less exposed to bombing. French diplomacy reacted: “It is with great emotion that the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs learned of the death of one of its agents.”
Catherine Colonna asks Israel “to shed light on the circumstances” of the bombing
Minister Catherine Colonna, who arrived in Israel on Sunday morning, demanded explanations and asked Israel “to shed light on the circumstances of this bombing.“The French institute in Gaza had already been damaged by a bombing last month. This is, however, the first time that a French agent has died in these circumstances. The IDF promises to “investigate” on tragedy.
