A four-year-old child died after drowning in Port-Camargue in Grau-du-Roi (Gard), France Bleu Gard Lozère reported on Tuesday July 9.
The accident occurred late in the morning. According to initial information, the little boy was apparently on a pontoon when he escaped adult supervision and fell into the water. When the firefighters arrived, the child was in cardio-respiratory arrest. He was transported by helicopter to Lapeyronie Hospital in Montpellier (Hérault).
France Bleu reports that this is the third fatal drowning this year in Grau-du-Roi. In early June, a 70-year-old woman suffered a cardiac arrest while swimming off the North Beach. Two weeks earlier, the body of another woman, who suffered from Alzheimer’s, was found in the marina.
