Many seasonal agricultural jobs are available in our two Charentes. Nearly 15,000, in Charente-Maritime alone, tells us the Maison de l’Emploi Saisonnier, which is organizing a job forum in Matha this Friday morning. Dozens of recruiters will be present. The forum will take place at the Salle des Fêtes de Matha, rue d’Angoulême. Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Applicants should provide a CV.
“The purpose of this fair is to create a local forum and to offer local jobs to job seekers.”, specifies Julien Duressay, in charge of employment-integration development at the Charente-Maritime departmental council. The day is particularly aimed at RSA beneficiaries who live around Matha, Saint-Jean-d’Angély and Chaniers. “These are jobs in agriculture and in particular in viticulture. Everything that is vine pruning, wood pulling and liftsfrom November to March/April.”
Combinable with RSA
RSA beneficiaries will be able to combine their seasonal employment with two months of RSA, or 300 hours. And this, “so as not to lose”, specifies Julien Duressay. “A proactive policy of the departmental council to help RSA beneficiaries find a job”, adds Julien Duressay.
An urgent need
“In the region, we fight with colleagues to find people”, explains Aymeric Madé, who works at Raisins de l’Abbaye, a winery in Asnières-la-Giraud. “Wages are increased, work comfort is improved with slightly more comfortable tools“. However, he is still looking for about fifteen seasonal workers. Failing to find French candidates, agricultural companies are turning more and more to Romanian, Bulgarian or even Portuguese workers.
