A forty-year-old shot and wounded in a Brossard motel

A man in his forties is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot in a motel in Brossard, on the South Shore of Montreal, on the night of Sunday to Monday.

The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) was alerted around 1 a.m. by calls to 911 for an injured person in a motel located on Taschereau Boulevard.

When they arrived on the scene, the police located the victim injured in the upper body by at least one firearm projectile, said SPAL spokesperson Mélanie Mercille.

Known to police circles, the forty-year-old was rushed to a hospital center where he remains in critical condition and there is fear for his life, said Longueuil police.

According to initial information, the suspect(s) targeted their victim through the door of the motel room before fleeing in a vehicle, towards Highway 10.

A large security perimeter was erected to protect the scene while waiting for SPAL investigators who will have to shed light on this attempted murder, it was added.
