A 43-year-old man was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on Thursday October 5 for “sexual assault on minors” and for “possession, transfer and importation and recording of child pornography images”, the national police told France Bleu on Monday. Limousin. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday October 3 in Palais-sur-Vienne (Haute-Vienne) where he lives, by police officers from the family protection group. The forty-year-old is described as “a desocialized man living in an unsanitary apartment”.
In police custody, the accused admitted part of the facts with which he is accused. He is the target of three complaints filed in Haute-Vienne for sexual assault on young girls close to him. Children of friends, specifies the national police in its press release. He admitted the facts to two of them, aged 9 and 10. He explained that he had sexually assaulted one of them, “several times over several months” and for the second “only touched her once”. On the other hand, he denies any aggression for the third child.
The forty-year-old first tried to “minimize his involvement”
Concerning the possession, distribution and importation of child pornography images, this 43-year-old man was “identified” by investigators specializing in cybercrime, within the Central Office for Personal Injuries in Paris. He first tried to “minimize your involvement”, explains the national police. He assured that he did not hold “only 10,000 files”. Then, the forty-year-old finally admitted to possessing “at least a million” of objectionable files, after being confronted with the evidence gathered by the investigators. He was “established that a large number of files were continuously distributed for the benefit of one or more networks”specifies the national police.
Two searches were carried out at his home. The first made it possible to grasp “around ten hard drives, six laptops, a video projector, two camcorders, several SIM cards, and various digital media”. The second search “digital” carried out on different forums made it possible, according to the investigators, to “reveal the extent of his involvement in the distribution and capture of child pornography images”.
The accused was already known for possession of child pornography images since 2015, “facts for which he served a six-month prison sentence in 2018”. He will be tried on November 27 by the Limoges court.
