It’s not just Quebec fans who are happy with Cole Caufield’s new contract, but also a certain JJ Watt.
The legendary ex-NFL defensive end has never hidden his love for hockey. He most notably became a CH fan during the 2021 playoffs due to his admiration for Caufield, also a Wisconsin native.
Watt, who previously posted a photo on social media where he was donning a blue-white-red sweater, reacted to his compatriot’s new eight-year, $62.8 million deal on Twitter, in the language by Moliere.
“Well that’s good news,” wrote the man who played his last NFL campaign in 2022.
During CH’s memorable 2021 knockout run, Watt publicly called for Caufield to be brought into the lineup after he was left out.
Remember that the Habs settled the Caufield case on Monday, granting him a pact worth $7.85 million annually which will expire at the end of the 2030-2031 season.
