A title referring to the British phrase “the heir and the spare” (the heir to the throne and the successor) who “will offer readers a leap in time by revealing to readers behind the scenes of one of the most striking images of the 20th century: that of two little boys walking behind the coffin of their mother, Princess of Wales Lady Diana”as reported in the press release.
“I had the best time of my life when I was with Harry“
However, the work of the 38-year-old dad should not mention the name of Catherine Ommanney! But who is she?
A former reality TV candidate, now 51, seen in The Real Housewives of DCwho met Lady Di’s youngest son at a London Chelsea bar in May 2006. At the time, she was 34, divorced and a mother of two. “We had mutual friends in the real estate business and he introduced himself”she told the Sun. “Once we started talking, it was like there was no one else in the room.”
Harry was accompanied by three Royal Protection Officers. “He was only 21, so a relationship was the furthest thing from my mind… But when everyone started leaving around 11 p.m., Harry got into one of the three Range Rovers parked outside and said ‘Ride with me’ which I found very flattering We were taken to Eclipse nightclub in South Kensington (…) then we went to another club but after half an hour I said to Harry, ‘I’m starving, do you make any good bacon sandwiches?’ He replied: ‘I make a great bacon sandwich’ and we drove back to his friend’s house in Chelsea. Harry and I shared a cigarette on the steps outside and he really opened up to me.” He told her about his grandmother the queen and “how close they were”.
She went on to say: “We climbed into the bathroom and started messing around like teenagers (…) We got into the bath with our clothes on and a friend of ours took a picture with my phone (…) Harry and I went to the kitchen and he made a great bacon sandwich (…) then I told him I had to go home and that’s when he picked me up by the waist from the floor and held me against the wall. He gave me the most amazing, passionate kiss I’ve ever had in my life. I was absolutely speechless.”
“If he wasn’t royal…”
After several more dates, in private bars, Harry changed numbers and Catherine didn’t see him again until 2009, when they met at a polo match in Barbados. That is a year after she married her second husband, from whom she is now separated. “Harry walked past his bodyguards to give me a kiss and a hug and we had a great chat. Looking back, it’s a shame we didn’t stay friends. I had the best time of my life when I was with Harry (…) Without being arrogant, I think we both liked each other even though he was far too young for me. was maybe ten years older, he would be my perfect man”.
Convinced of seeing him again one day, Catherine Ommanney ended her confidences with very complimentary remarks towards the father of Archie and Lilibet. “I hope he’s happy and has finally found some freedom because it’s something he was desperate for at the time. I hope Meghan takes care of him and I don’t wish nothing but happiness and success because he is a very brave, charismatic, incredibly funny, intelligent and charming human being.”
