Seventeen handrails “for lack of care” were recorded by the prosecution against a 48-year-old Norman farmer. This former candidate for the television show “L’amour est dans le pré” was sentenced, Wednesday, September 13, to a four-month suspended prison sentence for abandoning animals, by the Rouen criminal court.

The court also ordered the confiscation of the 432 animals that made up his livestock. They were given to the Brigitte Bardot foundation “which will be able to dispose of it freely”, specifies the court decision. Handrails for lack of watering and a significant mortality rate in its livestock had also been notified.

The farmer’s lawyer deplored an accusation based “only on allegations” without bringing “real proof of a lack of care, watering or feeding of its cattle”. His client announces he is appealing the decision.
