A former candidate for “Koh-Lanta” on TF1 was indicted in an open investigation into possible acts of sexual assault committed during the filming of the show in 2018, AFP learned from the prosecution and lawyers of the parties on Friday March 29, confirming information from Parisian.
Eddie Guyot “was indicted on November 16, 2022” for facts accused of by Candide Renard, the daughter of former French football player Hervé Renard. “By judgment of March 14, the investigating chamber of the Nancy Court of Appeal rejected the request for the annulment of his indictment which he had filed on May 10, 2023”the Nancy prosecutor told AFP.
At the start of the investigation, the complainant, then aged 20, told investigators that during the filming of the show, “she woke up while the accused was kissing her on the mouth, before touching her clothes”according to the account of the Nancy prosecutor in 2018.
“It was not his DNA that was found”
“The complainant rightly demanded a DNA examination of her clothes, in particular her leggings and her panties. This examination makes it possible to confirm her statements since male DNA was found”declared Jérémie Assous, Eddy Guyot’s lawyer, who denies the facts. “This expertise innocent Eddy Guyot, since it was not his DNA that was found. But the complainant does not wish to know to whom this DNA belongs”he said.
“The time that has passed, inherent to the criminal procedure, has not altered the determination” of his client, declared Leon Del Forno, Avocat by Candide Renard. “She expects with confidence that justice will be done to her and that Mr. Guyot will be found guilty for what he did to her”he added.
Adventure Line Productions, the production company for “Koh-Lanta”, canceled filming of the TF1 show in the wake of these denunciations. The next season was filmed a few months later.
