Until April 13, two unusual places are taking over in Hyères for the Faveurs de Printemps festival. Folk and acoustic concerts will rock a theater and a church from 7 p.m. (FRANCE 3)

Nine groups are on the bill for an event that celebrates spring at a folk festival. Among them is the Minimum Ensemble collective, who came to present their “composed landscape”. Going for a walk in Provence, in Hyères-les-Palmiers (Var), they drew their inspiration along the rivers and in the hills to create their songs. The result is an original show which marks the opening of the 20th edition of Spring Favorsuntil 13 april.

Following the program, we will notably find the groups Kepa, Maxwell Farrington and the superHomard, Elliott Armen, Lescop, El botcho and Naima Bock.

“Musical hug”

Who says spring, says stroll where moods flourish. Emotions that folk music performers know how to perfectly evoke.

“Folk is simple music that tells universal stories, encounters… People generally come out of our concerts talking about a bubble of sweetness and that’s what I try to do : a musical hug”, confides Martin Mey, member of the collective Minimum Set.

Sounds that are shared in places, also unifying. Throughout the event, music resonates through the stained glass windows of the Anglican church during the day, until nightfall when the Denis Theater takes over the festivities.

The music will sound, but not only that. To blow his 20 candles, a retrospective exhibition retraces twenty years of programming through posters and photos from previous editions of this authentic acoustic festival with pop, rock and folk sounds. The city’s media library will host this exhibition until the 27th april.
