A flamboyant spectacle | Built especially for the 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing’s National Stadium, nicknamed the “Bird’s Nest”, has been redesigned for this year’s Games. No less than 3,000 acrobats, dancers and extras participated in the opening ceremony which showcased a young, modern and diverse China.
