A dramatic turn of events: the impossible becomes reality, the Democratic vice-president has become the candidate for the presidency of the United States, thanks to an intelligent and generous withdrawal by the current president, Joe Biden, who, at 81, embodied the very image of ambient ageism.
What a great discovery, this new candidacy of the Democratic Party! A strong, smiling and dynamic personality, solidly experienced in the workings of government, but close to the people, with wisdom and a lot of experience as the daughter of immigrants, soon to be sixty, who will know how to face her rival, a malicious criminal and a dangerous liar.
You have to read his book Our Truths. My American Dream (Éditions Robert Laffont, 2021). She recounts her experiences as a woman of color of Indian and Jamaican origin, her studies and her rise to the title of lawyer, then attorney general of the State of California, then senator in the United States Congress, her fights for the poor and the less fortunate, for students, for women and their right to abortion. She fought against school truancy, against drug cartels, for same-sex marriage and more particularly for the social reintegration program called “Back on the Track”, for criminal justice reform and also for intelligent protection of the environment in the context of climate change. She is, so to speak, the complete opposite of her opponent, who only thinks about enriching himself by exploiting people and their ignorance.
As soon as she entered the presidential campaign, “Kamala” (a word that means “lotus flower” in the Indian language) saw millions of dollars spontaneously flow into her campaign. She chose to partner with her as vice-president the unconventional personality of Minnesota Senator Tim Waltz, an excellent communicator, who shares her fundamental options and the realistic way of approaching them.
I can’t wait for the debate between the two presidential candidates: a narcissist with little concern for truth and justice who has no place in the highest offices of the State, and a solid vigilante whose vocation is to help Americans, especially the most deprived, with the wonderful smile of people who are comfortable in their own skin and love what they do.
