The driver of a car knocked down a firefighter in full intervention in Bordeaux, in Gironde, on the night of Friday March 31 to Saturday April 1, before fleeing, reports Sunday April 2 France Bleu Gironde.
The firefighter was in the middle of an intervention in Bordeaux on an “urban fire” when he asked the driver to wait before he could drive. The motorist refused to wait and triggered “suddenly a step forward, throwing our colleague on the side of the road”, the firefighters wrote on Facebook. The latter is slightly injured in the ankle and shocked. The driver fled.
Also according to the firefighters, a complaint has been filed and an investigation is underway. The prefect of Gironde, Etienne Guyot, “condemns this intolerable act”. For his part, the president of the Gironde department, Jean-Luc Gleyze, also supports the injured lieutenant.
