a fire takes away three members of his family

Pascal Soetens experienced the worst Christmas. As he revealed to Jordan de Luxe this Thursday on C8, the former host of Pascal, the big brother on TF1 and SOS My family needs help on NRJ12, faced the death of three members of his family. Indeed, his godmother, his uncle and their son died in the fire of their town house in Clermont (Oise). A terrible news story that the host recounted with great emotion to Jordan de Luxe: “I wanted to pay tribute, if you allow me, to Françoise my godmother, my uncle Maurice and my cousin Michaël who left not very long ago in a terrible tragedy. Pascal Soetens wanted to have a tender thought for Sébastien and Sandra, his still living cousins, who lost their parents and their brother.

As the sports coach explained, the fire broke out on the ground floor and trapped the three victims upstairs: “It went up, they couldn’t get out. I learned that my uncle managed to escape through the skylight, he was in flames. And he died in the ambulance.” he explained. With tears in his eyes, Pascal Soetens explained that the news reached him in the middle of filming. A fire probably caused by an electrical problem, which occurred in the middle of the night while the victims were sleeping: “None survived. It comes from an electrical problem. It was at 4:30 in the morning. The neighbor heard someone screaming, she came out and saw the house on fire.”.

His uncle did not die from the fire

Indeed, this sad news item had been reported by Actu.fr last November 9. The local newspaper explained the circumstances of this tragic fire: “All three were surprised by the flames, around 4:30 a.m., and found themselves trapped on the top floor, where the bedrooms are located. Under the influence of panic, a retiree jumped through the skylight, on the garden side. He died from his injuries on the way to the hospital. The bodies of the mother and the son, a man in his forties who worked as a handler at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, were found inside the house.”
