The fire started on Saturday June 15, in Gorman, less than 100 kilometers from Los Angeles. In a few days, the fire spread throughout this rural area with dense vegetation.

More than 6,300 hectares of vegetation destroyed in four days. In the Los Angeles countryside, firefighters from California (United States) were still fighting on Monday June 17 against what is currently the biggest fire of the year in this state. It continues to expand every day since Saturday June 15, and remains difficult to contain.

“I am still in shock, I saw the fire devastate part of the property”, confides Mel Harold, the manager of a vineyard. The fire started early Saturday afternoon in Gorman, less than 100 kilometers from Los Angeles. In a few days, the fire spread throughout this rural area with dense vegetation, dried out by extreme heat in the previous weeks. This rapid conflagration was reinforced by violent winds. Nearly 1,200 Californians had to leave their homes as a precaution.
