A fire in the Nantes detention center, no injuries

Flames higher than the perimeter wall. A fire broke out this Friday evening, around 8:30 p.m., in the Nantes detention center. According to the firefighters, the fire started from a storage building attached to the perimeter wall.

40 firefighters mobilized

The 40 firefighters mobilized for this intervention needed 4 water lances to extinguish the flames. During this time, the detainees remained confined to their cells. Fortunately, “the fumes did not spread to the accommodation buildings”, explain the firefighters.
