A fire in an industrial zone in Montaigu (Vendée) left one dead and two slightly injured, the prefecture announced on Monday August 8. “The deceased is a young apprentice. There is a lightly injured employee, a lightly injured firefighter transported to hospital and five employees who received psychological help”she clarified.
The fire took place in the Vincent 4×4 company, according to France 3 Pays-de-la-Loire, which also specifies that 2,000 square meters of buildings went up in smoke. The fire quickly spread to two companies sharing the same building, L’Atelier peinture and JLP Concept.
Three companies were affected by this fire which started at the end of the afternoon and which was brought under control in the evening. The fire mobilized around 80 firefighters and around twenty gendarmes to secure the area, according to the same source.
