A fire broke out on Sunday April 7 in the evening in an apartment located at 146 rue de Charonne, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, franceinfo learned from the city’s firefighters. Three people died, according to a police source.
The Paris public prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal investigation for “destruction by fire or dangerous means” and “involuntary homicide”. The judicial police are responsible for the investigation.
The Paris fire brigade responded to a fire on the 7th floor of an 8-story building. 66 firefighters and 17 engines were engaged. The fire was brought under control, with no risk of spreading.
