A fire in a field in the Dordogne, firefighters protect the nearby forest

While fires ravage the pine forests of Gironde, the passage of large tank trucks against forest fires did not go unnoticed on the roads of Dordogne. Friday evening July 15, a brush fire broke out in Saint-Jean-de-Côle, between Thiviers and Nontron, in the aptly named place “The Burned House”.

A nearby forest

Around thirty firefighters and around ten vehicles were immediately dispatched to the scene. And for good reason. The forest that goes to Villars is very close, and the wind is blowing. Fortunately, in the opposite direction to the woods and rather towards the departmental road nearby. The firefighters stopped the flames to prevent them from heading towards homes, according to the mayor of the town who went there.

By mid-evening, the fire was “surrounded” by firefighters.
