A hegemony to be broken. England have won the last five Six Nations Tournaments, and the Blues intend to end this series, Saturday April 27 at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux (5:45 p.m. live on France 2 and france.tv), which should be almost full, breaking the attendance record for a women’s rugby match in France.
The players of Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz won their first four matches in the Tournament, like their opponent of the day. They were not impressed by the 58,000 spectators at Twickenham Stadium in 2023, losing by a short margin (33-38), but will have to do even better to overthrow the Red Roses, with the support of the public this times.
The Blues can count on their defensive rigor and their creativity to beat the English who are always imperial in physical confrontation, and who have progressed further this year to score a whopping 38 tries since the start of the Tournament, double the number of the French. The Rose players advance as favorites, but the Blues have never been so well armed to repeat their feat of 2018 (18-17 victory), the last English defeat against a team from the northern hemisphere.
