The Minister of National Education summoned all the rectors for an audit on school harassment. The France Télévisions teams met a family whose child had to be taken out of school because the rectorate refused to assign him another establishment.
Since the start of the school year, Jeanne has been schooled at home, the only solution found to prevent the young girl from being harassed in college. “My brother went to college where things didn’t go very well.”, she says. Four years ago, his big brother was victim of school harassment. The trauma is still raw in the family. For the father, it is out of the question to put his daughter in the same establishment.
A request finally accepted
He asked the rectorate five times to be able to change establishments with supporting evidence, but he was never granted the change. The refusals are justified by a lack of space in the establishments, a lie for the father of the family. “There were places available. We take refuge behind a supposed lack of space”specifies-he. After several months of standoff, the rectorate accepted the request, a decision which comes a few days after the death of Nicolas in Poissy (Essonne).
