A shooting killed three in New Zealand, including the shooter. And this, a few hours before the opening of the Women’s World Cup.
A shooting took place produced in a building under construction in downtown Auckland. Early Thursday, July 20 in the morning, a man opened fire on construction workers, scaring passers-by. “I saw about 20 people running out of the building. They were telling people to run away. I asked them what was going on, and they said they had seen an armed man who was shooting at everyone he came across.”indicates a passerby.
“Six other people were injured”
After several exchanges of fire, the assailant was finally shot by the police, in the elevator shaft where he had taken refuge. “It is with deep sadness that I can confirm that two people have been killed. At this stage we also know that six other people have been injured. […]. Police also confirmed that the shooter was dead.”, said Chris Hipkins, Prime Minister of New Zealand.
