In Germany, a far-right party is deprived of public funding. The NDP, which notably demands a strong state and blood rights, has been deemed anti-democratic. Another far-right party, the AfD, is on the rise in the country. But the latter is not a small group like the NDP. The AfD has become a political heavyweight, credited with 30% of voting intentions in certain regions for the legislative elections of September 2024.
A national treasure gone up in smoke in Georgia
In Georgia, an art gallery was completely destroyed by flames in Sukhumi on the night of Saturday January 20 to Sunday January 21. Investigators favor the possibility of a short circuit. Nearly 4,000 paintings are permanently lost. Most of the artistic heritage of the Abkhazia region, which has come under the control of pro-Russian separatists since 1993, has gone up in smoke.
