In the Guionet family, Louane, 19, and her father are both disabled. On a daily basis, the girl’s mother, brother and sister are caregivers.

At 19, Louane Guionetborn prematurely and with cerebral palsy, depends on her family for daily activities. “It is enough that there is need for a helping hand for Louane, I dress her, I undress her, I sometimes shower her“, explains Alice, 16, her little sister. Louane says it, Alice is important “for everything” in his life. The father of the family, Pascal Guionet, is also disabled, after a stroke at the age of 35 which paralyzed his right arm.

Antoine, the eldest son, plays several roles. “The big brother, the handyman, a bit of a babysitter, from time to time an ear“, he says. Six months ago, Louane joined a home for disabled adults. Her brother and sister want to continue going to see her and help her. Sylvie, their mother, does not want to overload them, however. “I know they will always be there for their sister, but, as much as possible, I want to relieve them of it”she says.
