It is the story of a Canadian family of four children, three of whom are suffering from a rare disease that condemns them to losing their sight. Before that day, they embarked on the crazy project of traveling around the world, to show the most beautiful wonders to their children.

Sébastien, Édith and their children Mia, 12, Léo, 9, Colin, 7 and Laurent, 5, have embarked on the journey of their lives. Three of the children are suffering from retinitis pigmentosa, an incurable disease which condemns them to losing their sight. When they learned about it, the parents decided to go beyond the recommendations of the doctors, who recommended in particular to show many images to the children. “I thought to myself, the giraffes, the elephants, I’m going to show them for real”explains Edith Lemay.

The Canadian family suspended their daily lives and began a great journey, from Namibia to Turkey via Mongolia. They are now in Indonesia, where they are learning how to produce coconut oil. The children discovered the Maasai tribes, the African elephants or the hot air balloons of Cappadocia (Turkey). “I was in the green meadows, and in the wide open spaces. Galloping for the first time in Mongolia, it’s really an impression that I will remember forever”, confides Mia. Beyond discoveries, parents also instill resilience in their children.
