According to the Brest prosecutor’s office, a man, a woman and two girls from the same family were found dead at their home in Carantec in northern Finistère on Sunday, October 30. The father was found hanged, the woman and the little girls were in their bed.
A man, a woman and two girls from the same family were found dead this Sunday, October 30 at their home in Carantec, near Morlaix in Finistère, we learned from the Brest prosecutor’s office.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the woman, aged 38, was in the marital bed on the 2nd floor. The girls, aged 8 and 11, were also discovered in their bed on the first floor. The 41-year-old man was found hanged on the ground floor in the stairwell, the prosecution said.
A dog, apparently belonging to the family, was also found dead.
It was the gendarmes of Plourin-les-Morlaix and the firefighters who discovered the scene at 11:10 a.m. this Sunday, October 30 at the family home, 50 rue François Le Duc in Carantec.
The alert had been given a few minutes earlier by the wife’s mother, who had been unable to reach her daughter since the evening before.
The first observations made on the spot by the investigators and the medical examiner revealed no trace of external injury, nor of the use of a weapon on any of the bodies, according to the statement from the prosecution.
The drama seems to be part of a context of separation of the couple.
The Plourin-les-Morlaix gendarmerie research brigade is seized of the open investigation of the heads of intentional homicide. Autopsies will be performed to determine the causes of death.
