A Toulouse family has just bought a one-euro house in the countryside, in the Cher department. The mayor of the town is at the origin of the good business, because he seeks to revitalize his territory. The only condition: to settle for at least six years and to employ the craftsmen of the sector.

With her daughter, Lise Parotte looks at the photos of her new life. The family has just acquired a house in Saint-Amand-Montrond (Cher) for one euro. What leave her dreaming. “It’s as if I had won the lottery”, says Lisa. His new home is a property of the town hall worth 27,000 euros for 90 square meters. The works have been costed and cost between 70,000 and 90,000 euros, which remains in the family budget.

For the municipality, the objective is to revitalize the territory. “It brings us inhabitants in the city center and it is this human wealth that we are looking for”, rejoices Francis Blondieau, the deputy mayor in charge of town planning. The new tenants have also pledged to make local businesses work and to remain in the municipality for at least six years. The family was selected from 67 other nominations.
