It had everything of a German police vehicle (lights, color, signage) and circulated in the Strasbourg region. A Polizɘi flocked car (with an -e- backwards) was intercepted by the Motorized Brigade of the Strasbourg gendarmes on Tuesday 24 May.
Same color, same lights and a flashing light
The gendarmes noticed this gray Audi, parked in a parking lot, during a control in Reichstett last weekend. But the driver probably waited for the police to leave to take the wheel of the racing car.
It was finally Tuesday, May 24, while the car was traveling in the streets of Strasbourg, that the motorized brigade of Strasbourg intercepted it. The resemblance to a German police car is impressive: same color, same insignia, same serigraphy. The car is also equipped with a flashing light.
This resemblance is prohibited so as not to mislead motorists. The driver was therefore arrested and heard by the prosecution, who returned the car to him without the flashing light. He now has the obligation to remove all the attributes of the German police.
He will be heard by the Strasbourg court in September and will have to answer on four counts. This is not the first time that the police have intercepted a car with German police attributes. In 2019, a Porsche “Polizei” was seized by the gendarmes.
