While the trial of the organizers of the demonstrations against the “basins” in Sainte-Soline has resumed, in Niort (Deux-Sèvres), a drone will monitor Tuesday November 28 and Wednesday November 29, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the construction sites of three of these water reservoirs. The department prefecture has in fact issued an order to this effect. “The geographical sectors of the replacement reservoirs of Mauzé sur le Mignon, Sainte-Soline and Val du Mignon” are concerned, specifies the document.

The prefecture of Deux-Sèvres considers in fact “that the ‘mega bassines tour’ hike announced by the ‘Bassines non merci’ collective, on the program for the day of November 28 at 1 p.m., which has not been declared, could result in visits to substitute reservoirs”. This collective did not specify exactly how this “mega tower basins” would consist.

Feared “isolated acts”

“It is not excluded that isolated actions of radical groups may take place, generating disturbances to public order during the ‘mega bassines tour’ announced on November 28, or even the day after the hearing on November 29, in the form clashes or actions of damage to public or private property, on the replacement reservoirs of Sainte-Soline, Mauzé sur le Mignon and Val de Mignon”we can also read in this decree.

Furthermore, a demonstration in support of the nine defendants, in front of the court, was banned. The franceinfo special correspondent on site noted at 8 a.m. the presence of a few dozen demonstrators a few meters from the building.
