A Drôme worker dies buried on the site of a well in Isère

The accident occurred in a village in northern Isère, in Hières-sur-Amby a few kilometers from Lyon where Payen d’Anneyron had been called to dig a well in a private home. After drilling about fifteen meters deep, the team realizes that there is no water and decides to remove the material used to support the work. It was then that the ground suddenly subsided and one of the employees was buried. Faced with the new risk of collapse, nearly 70 firefighters are mobilized. At the end of the afternoon, the emergency services found the body of the victim, who had probably died of asphyxiation. Joris Payen was 30 years old, he worked in the family company based in Anneyron in the north of Drôme. A company that has specialized in drilling work for a very long time.
