The driver of a vehicle that left the road Monday, November 8 in the evening on the departmental 50 in Navès (Tarn) was arrested Tuesday evening in Aveyron, indicates France Bleu Occitanie Wednesday. In this road accident involving only one vehicle, a 7-year-old passenger died.

Monday evening, this vehicle, which was driving at “very lively” according to the public prosecutor of Castres Chérif Chabbi, finished his race in a field. His driver then fled “within seconds of the accident”, before help arrives.

The four passengers – his partner and their two children aged 3 and 5 as well as another child aged 7 – were transported to Castres hospital. The 7-year-old girl died on arrival at the facility and the other passengers were slightly injured. The Castres public prosecutor’s office explains that the man risks being prosecuted for “manslaughter”, “unintentional injuries” and “non-assistance to anyone in danger”.
