A documentary will pay tribute to Jean-Marc Vallée

A cinematographic tribute will soon be paid to Quebec filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée. ITEM 7 announced the preparation of the documentary Cut Print Thank You Byedirected by Marie-Julie Dallaire.

In a press release, the production company said that this documentary will focus on the career and life of the late director who died on December 25, 2021 following a cardiopulmonary arrest. Original filming images and archives will paint “an intimate portrait” of the filmmaker of CRAZY

“His sudden departure leaves me speechless. However, I feel the need to express my love and gratitude to him loud and clear,” said Marie-Julie Dallaire.

The director also won the Iris 2022 prize for best documentary for her film. like a waveof which Jean-Marc Vallée was the executive producer.

The two had been friends since the film’s release CRAZY in 2005. She explains that this film will be a way of paying homage to her friend through the language they share: cinema. The family of the deceased will also participate in the production of this documentary, whose idea came from the director of photography Yves Bélanger, a longtime collaborator of Jean-Marc Vallée.
