The documentary Geese by Jean Paul Riopelle will be screened as part of the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA).
The documentary will premiere on March 15, at 7 p.m., at the Sandra and Alain Bouchard Auditorium of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ), in the presence of director Jean‑Luc Dupuis. It will be preceded by the screening of five short films inspired by Jean Paul Riopelle’s creative approach and his cherished themes.
Geese by Jean Paul Riopelle explores the artistic and intimate universe of the famous Quebec painter with the participation of his daughter, Yseult Riopelle, and his last companion, Huguette Vachon.
Marc Séguin, Champlain Charest, John R. Porter, Guy Sioui Durand, André Desmarais, Gilles Gagné, Lise Gauvin and René Viau also take part in this journey to the heart of the Île-aux-Oies studio and the work emblematic of the artist, Tribute to Rosa Luxemburg.
An earlier version of this text stated that this documentary opened up FIFA, but that is not the case.
