The kickoff of the 2024 diving World Cup season, which will set the table for the Paris Olympic Games, will take place in Montreal, FINA announced Wednesday morning.
The event, which will take place at the Olympic Park Sports Center, will take place from February 29 to March 3, FINA said in a press release.
This will be one of three stops during this season shortened by the Olympics. The second stage will take place in Berlin, Germany, from March 21-24, and the season will culminate with the super final in Xi’an, China, from April 19-21.
Individual divers, synchronized pairs and teams will earn spots in the Xi’an super final based on their performances in the first two Diving World Cup events, in Montreal and Berlin. The super final will feature the top 18 athletes in the individual events and the top eight in the synchronized and team events.
The World Cup season will be inserted between the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar, which will take place from February 2 to 18, and the Paris Olympic Games, from July 26 to August 11.
