a disused school invaded in the middle of the night by 150 homeless people

Nearly 150 homeless people invested in the night from Friday to Saturday, a disused school in the 15th arrondissement of Paris according to the daily newspaper Le Parisien. They were accompanied by the United Migrants association.

Around 1:30 a.m., on the night of Friday to Saturday, homeless people, migrants according to Le Parisien, settled in a disused school in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. Nearly 150 men, 40 women and children have taken over a 3,000 m2 building where the Saint Ange school is located, a private establishment that has been closed for several months. The homeless were accompanied by volunteers from the United Migrants association, an association that helps migrants and asylum seekers.

This occupation angered the mayor of the 15th arrondissement who is now demanding the eviction of the occupants.

Philippe Goujon, mayor Les Républicains du 15e, asks today “it is up to the State to ensure that we can get out of this dead end”. The police, who went there, arrested one of the members of the association according to the Parisian. According to Phillipe Goujon, the member of the association was “placed on guard view for damage to the premises”. The Ile-de-France prefecture, the police prefecture and the social services of the city of Paris are in discussion to resolve the situation, said the mayor.
