This European plan of several billion euros, unveiled Friday, February 4, aims to prevent 40% of preventable cancers.
A European plan against cancer of 4 billion euros was unveiled on Friday 4 February. Its purpose is to prevent 40% of preventable cancers. The Twenty-Seven will, for this, adopt legislative measures against risky behavior, such as tobacco. Another line of work: early detection. The plan thus aims to offer screening to 90% of citizens affected by breast, colon and uterus cancers.
Support for patients and their caregivers during and after the illness must also be standardized, particularly in terms of reintegration assistance. In addition, the deployment of a right to be forgotten to stop penalizing cured patients during their insurance procedures is also part of the measures of this plan. The latter will be presented on February 15 in Brussels (Belgium), in plenary session of the European Parliament.
