While Russia has deployed soldiers to the Ukrainian border, Moscow and Washington could try to find a diplomatic solution in the coming days.

Wednesday, January 26, at the gates of Ukraine, Russian troops continue their military exercises. On land and at sea, Vladimir Putin shows his muscles. Russia, as well as Belarus, will engage in ten days of joint maneuvers during the month of February. Ukraine is caught in a vice between the Belarusian missiles which threaten it, the 100,000 Russian soldiers on the border and on its soil with the pro-Russian separatists of Donbass.

Washington (United States) delivered the written response requested by Moscow. Head of American diplomacy, Antony Blinken plans to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov “in the next few days when Moscow will have the opportunity to read the document and will be ready to discuss the next steps”. For his part, Sergei Lavrov warns that “If there is no constructive response and the West continues its aggressive course, President Putin has already said he will take the necessary retaliatory measures”. Finally, in Paris, Russians and Ukrainians spoke live for almost nine hours. The Russians have sent a good signal according to the Élysée.
