In the United States, a powerful tornado ravaged a residential area of Indianapolis. According to a first report, there would be at least one dead and one injured. Several roads were closed, and authorities asked residents to avoid the area.
It only took a few seconds for the tornado to form and gain strength. Once launched, it swept away everything in its path. Around the whirlpool, thousands of debris. It then disappeared, as quickly as it formed. A few minutes later, it struck again, in a residential area of Indiana (United States).
Thousands of homes without electricity
The huge column of air moved very quickly. The sirens warned the inhabitants, who had to take shelter as quickly as possible. 75 houses were affected, and one person lost his life in his home. Many residents avoided the debris carried by the tornado. “It was sudden. I heard a sound, like Niagara Falls”, says a woman. On the evening of Monday June 26, thousands of homes are still without electricity.
