A defeat for the Canadiens without playing Jonathan Drouin

The Montreal Canadiens recovered well after their last catastrophic performance, but still lacked energy at the end of the game, Saturday in Tampa. The Lightning won 5-3.

Even if the troop of Jon Cooper dominated the column of shots on goal 41 to 21, the CH did not give their place on the ice and even held a one-goal lead before the third period.

Steven Stamkos and Brandon Hagel, however, hit the target in the last engagement, allowing the “Bolts” to sign a third consecutive victory.

Hagel had also shaken the ropes early in the second period and completed his hat trick in an empty cage. Victor Hedman was the other scorer for the winners.

In the loss, captain Nick Suzuki picked up two assists, adding to the successes of Mike Hoffman and Denis Gurianov. Jesse Ylönen completed the scoring with a devastating one-timer.

The CH will have the opportunity to take revenge in front of their supporters on Tuesday when they receive a visit from the Lightning.
